Kirk is a fun-loving, active boy and thanks to the dedication of his
co-pilot, he is a "highly decorated" ( titled ) captain : )
ALL BEFORE THE AGE OF 2 YEARS, KIRK HAD TITLES OR LEGS
IN ADVANCED RALLY, OPEN AGILITY, OBEDIENCE, HERDING and
BARN HUNT. What a team !!
Kirk is "sturdy and agile with bone that is moderate and in proportion
to body size and height without extremes". He is a "highly versatile,
energetic dog" He is "an excellent athlete with superior intelligence
and a willingness to please".
We love Kirk's size - he is right in the middle of the height standard
for a male and has many nice qualities to offer our breeding program .
Kirk is only available at stud by private treaty and only to select responsible
breeders who want to keep a performance dog from the litter he sires.
FLAGTREE stud contract and dual agreement by both Cheryl and Tammy required.
Captain Kirk in his Trekkie uniform ... LOL
Now onto some lessons .....
At 9 months of age Kirk gets two qualifying passes for his AKC
Herding Instinct Certificate ..... way to go young Cap't Kirk : )
Cap't Kirk made his agility debut at 12 months of age and brought
home two TDAA titles. He also qualified to move up and run in the
next level that same weekend .... what a good boy !
Soon as he was old enough for AKC agility he managed his first "Q"
with a first place at 15 months of age.
As a Miscellaneous breed, Kirk was able to try out conformation at
the Mid-America Miniature American Shepherd Club one weekend.
Participating in this and also earning a herding Q earlier that morning, earned him a special award from the Mid-America MAS Club.
Here are some photos of the young Captain Kirk and Cheryl's first adventures into the conformation ring.
< Cheryl with 9 month old Kirk, after earning a Qualification toward his AKC herding instinct test. See some of Cheryl and Kirk's adventures below . . . and stay tuned as they seek, explore and boldly go on their missions together. Very proud of this crew !
Kirk in AKC Rally Advanced. I have a better photo where he is not forging .....
but oh how he loves his mama. Gotta love that " watchful expression ".
Such a " loyal companion and biddable worker".
Captain Kirk meets flying saucers !!
Kirk is in the perfect home. Thank you Cheryl, for all of your extra efforts in training Kirk and his cousin ( Spice ) in multiple activities ..... you're amazing !
When Deanna and I decided to breed Rita to Ziggy, I was hoping for a small blue male from the cross and Cheryl wanted a blue female. The only two
males were tri colors, so I took my chance with the smaller of the two ( Kirk ).
Kirk had "performance" written all over him and I convinced Cheryl to take
him home on a trial basis and see what she thought. The rest is history : )
The blue merle female ( in photo above ) is Cheryl's original choice. Although
she has an easy temperament, she has less "drive", but is living the good life
in her perfect home ! See the amazing "Sammy", who is a super companion
and an exceptional service dog !
Waiting for mom to come home - " devoted and loyal "
Waiting for mom to say go - " versatile and easily trained,
performing his assigned tasks with great style and enthusiasm"
" Alert, attentive and intelligent "
